About Us
ABOUT US
The Women Physicians Society of India began as a modest yet powerful initiative. On a warm day in May 2023, nearly 100 women physicians connected through a WhatsApp group titled “Women Physicians of India Forum.” What started as an informal platform soon evolved into a vibrant community where women physicians could discuss academics, share experiences, and address the unique challenges faced by women in the field of medicine—an arena that continues to be largely male dominated.
Recognizing the need for a structured and dedicated platform, the group soon formalized into The Women Physicians Society, a registered professional association committed to bringing women in medicine together. The Society aims to foster academic excellence, leadership, mentorship, and collaborative learning among women physicians across India.
Today, the Society has grown to over 2,000 members and continues to expand, bringing together many distinguished names in Internal Medicine. Membership primarily includes physicians with MD Medicine and higher qualifications such as DM or PhD in medical specialties, united by a shared commitment to advancing medical knowledge and supporting one another professionally.
